Why the GPL license?

I decided to license Lino using the GPL because I believe that using the GPL is the only way to make sure that Lino will always remain free. Yes, there are people who believe something else. It is possible that I change my convictions and start to use another, «more Pythonic» licence.

But I am not a lawyer and it isn't easy for me to make up my opinion about this complex subject.
