«Information For Maintainers of GNU Software» says that years in copyright notices must be listed explicitly, without summarizing them to ranges.*sigh*! I just started to have the official GPL notices at the top of most files, changing «2003-2004» to «2003-2005». And I see that I should have placed my name *after* the years.
I also noticed that I should insert a «(C)» after the copyright. But I'm not going to do this because regarding this detail I really have no idea at all why this could be useful.
Karl Berry and Larry Jones had a public discussion about the subject in lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-cvs/2002-04/msg00241.html.
